So Fresh and so Clean

Hey guys,

So, for the past month I have been trying out the La Roche Posay, Purifying Foaming Cleanser, and I gotta say, I’m in love.

I love how this cleanser is very gentle on the skin, but completely removes all make up, dirt, and any impurities. It says it is for normal to oily skin, but I have more normal to dry skin and I had no problems. It did slightly leave my skin a little more dry, but I applied a layer of moisturizer and it seems to do the trick.

The ceramides the product contains, helps keep a barrier on the skin, which retains the skin moisturizer longer.

Overall, this is my new go to everyday cleanser. You can purchase this cleanser for aroung $15 at Ulta, Target, and many other store. (Click the links to purchase.)

Hopefully, you are able to try this product and love it as much as I do.

Until next time, please make sure to like, comment, and follow.

                                                   Thank you!!!!

AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser

I recently purchased the Skin Medica AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser, and fell in love. This cleanser attacks every skin concern I have, without irritating my skin. I use this cleanser about 3-4 times a week, while the other days I use a gentle foaming cleanser.

This cleanser gently scrubs away dead cells using ultra fine beads that contain alpha-hydroxyl and beta-hydroxyl acids, which help improve skin texture and tone, and also helps minimize wrinkles. Because of the ultra fine beads, their is no skin irritation and is safe for ALL skin types. Yes, I said ALL.

Now, you are probably wondering what are these two acids that miraculously makes my skin flawless.

Alpha-Hydroxy (AHA)

-Lactic Acid, Glycolic Acid, Citric Acid, and Malic Acid

  • All these Acids help reduce the appearance of wrinkles and it also enhances skin texture ( which helps skin look flawless)

Beta-Hydroxy (BHA)

-Salicylic Acid

  • Helps exfoliate the skin, getting rid of the dead cell.

** Remember, because of both BHA and AHA acids in this cleanser, our skin is more sun sensitive and can easily sunburn. Must always apply a layer of SPF of at least 30 daily to protect from the sun.

This cleanser retails at $47 and can be purchased on Skin Medica website or a Dermatologist office.

Thank you and hope you are able to try this amazing product.

Kissable Lips

It’s never fun having dry, rough, cracked lips, especially while trying to rock a lipstick.  Just as our face and body, our lips also require to be exfoliated and hydrated. Applying chapstick or lip balm helps with temporary hydration, but if we do not exfoliate, the lip balm will never truly help nourish the lips.

My go to exfoliate is Tartes lip scrub Tarte lip scrub, but there are many other products out there. The lip scrub helps getting rid dead cells, revealing softer lips and also prepares lips for a smooth application of a lip balm and or lipstick.

As daily lip hydration, I always apply a layer of Nicole Guerriero’s Best Damn Beauty lip mask Lip maskand a thick layer at night for an intense lip treatment. The lip mask helps restore  lost hydration and nourishing lips.

After exfoliating and applying a lip balm/mask, our lips will be softer and smother. Applying any lipsticks will look amazing.

Hope you give it a try and if you use any of these products or recommend any I should try, please comment below.

Thank you

The Botox Life!

I have been in the skin care industry for close to seven years, so Botox comes natural to me. Hearing the word Botox can sometimes scare, or make someone uneasy. Of course the unknown will always have that effect on us.

I have been getting Botox done since I started working at a Dermatology office in 2010. At the beginning, I would start off with a few units in my glabella ( The 11’s, or in between the eyebrows). I have always been a person that easily shows my emotions through frowing or raising my eyebrows. So, as you can imagine, I have really strong muscles there. Then, as the years went by and I became more familiar with the product and would get not only my glabella but also my forehead and bunny lines ( around my nose).  The fine lines around my eyes are beginning to show, so that would be next in line.

Many thought I was insane for getting Botox, again since not many new the product, but also when I first began getting Botox I had just turned 21. Like I mentioned before, I have strong muscles that constantly get used,so ideally I wanted to have minimal movement. I also began to get Botox as a preventative. I did not want to get older and have permanent wrinkles that show even while I am not doing any movement. I know aging is the process of life and there really is not anything we can do to prevent that from happening, but we can slow it down.

Botox is an amazing product that helps to temporarily reduce muscle movement, but it is also used to help with migraines and excess sweating (hyperhidrosis).

The downfall to Botox will have to be the price. On average, I have noticed the price per unit is $12. Of course, their are always groupons available, but always do the research and make sure you have it done by a liscence Dermatologist or Physician Assistant.

Let me know if you have got it done before, want to get it done,or if you have any questions.

Hope you enjoy.

Hydrating the Face

With “Cold weather” approaching Southern California, keeping our face and body hydrated can sometimes be a struggle. Skin dehydration can be caused by many factors other than the weather. It can be caused from lack of water intake, make up, incorrect product use, travel, etc.

The best time to moisturize the skin, in my experience, is right after the shower. When applied immediately after bathing, the product is able to trap some of the water still on your body and use it to hydrate your skin. MayoClinic

I prefer moisturizes that have ceramides and/or Hyaluronic acid, like CeraVe, that help as a barrier for the skin and can keep the skin hydrated longer. For my face, I love to use Neutrogena Hydro-Boost as my daily moisturizer. It has Hyaluronic acid that helps not only for dry skin, but long-term use can help with fine lines.

After a long vacation, whether from driving or flying, our face become really dry. The best thing I have done, other than applying moisturizer, is doing a hydrating mask. Hydration masks help re-nourish the skin in minutes.

Keeping our skin hydrated will keep our skin smooth, refreshed and have the glow we all want.

Finding the right cleanser that does it all, is hard to find. Especially, if you have sensitive skin. Replenix Clarifying brightening polish has it all and is safe for all skin types. This is definitely my go to cleanser.

That Smooth Skin

Another aspect of flawless skin are the size of our pores. The old wise tale of splashing ice cold water or doing an egg white mask to shrink your pores is exactly that, a tale, a fantasy.

Unfortunately, there is no real treatment that can shrink our pore size. Our pores are genetically determined, so thank your parents for that. Fortunately, there are treatments that will help minimize the size of our pores.

Pores are openings of hair follicles, where each contain sebaceous gland that produces oil.

Simple, everyday Treatments:

  • Exfoliation

-Dead skin cells stretch out pores

  • Sunscreen

               – UV weakens the collagen, which help supports and keep pores small.

  • Cleansing

             – keeping face clean, will help get rid of dirt that pile up in the pores.

  • Retinol

            – as discussed in past blog,Wrinkle free, retinol will help build collagen , which will then help minimize pore size.

Of course their are other measures that can be taken to minimize pore, but can be expensive.

  • Fraxel

             – laser that helps restore collagen, minimum of 3 treatments usually needed, help even out skin tone and texture. Help with UV damage , and acne scars.

  • Microdermabrasion

              – instrument that sands off the top layer of skin, indeed helping in treating sun spots, scars, and of course minimizing pore size.

Beginning  with the affordable everyday treatments will help with the flawless, airbrush look. As we age, fraxel would be a great overall treatment.

Flake it off

Writing with a pencil usually gives us comfort knowing we can erase mistakes. Wouldn’t it be great if we had the same idea for our skin?  Guess what, we do; Glycolic.

Glycolic is an exfoliator, which helps get rid of the outer Layer of dead skin cells. Glycolic has been known to be used to help with age spots, wrinkles, acne-prone and blackhead-prone skin. It’s comes in many different way, cleansers, serums, moisturizers, and facial peels. Applying Glycolic, whether as a daily routine or once a month in a facial, we’ll also help penetrate any other products used in your skin care regimen.

When having a facial, it is commonly applied to the face to not only get rid a dead cells, but to also act as an aid in extracting blackheads.

So if looking for a quick eraser friendly treatment for the skin, try Glycolic. One of my all time favorite product, which can be found online or in some dermatologist office, is glycolix pads. They are pads, with either 5 or 10% Glycolic and 2% salycylic acid, which helps with acne breakouts, and can be used daily up to twice a day.

** Always remember to apply sunscreen when using Glycolic, as it makes your skin more susceptible to sunburns***

Everyday I’m Guzzling

As We were growing up, we were taught to drink at least 8oz of water a day. Now, how many of you actually do it? I get it life gets busy and taking care of our bodies and skin take the back burner. Even though I still think we all need to drink water throughout the day, I have become addictive to detox water, which can help cleanse and hydrate the body, help with digestive system, reduce bloating, etc.
I have tried many different detox water, but always go back to one in particular. Lemon, mint, and cucumber water. This water reverses inflammation and cuts belly fat. Of course ,the first information I noticed is cuts belly fat. Who isn’t looking for a simpler way to have a flat belly? I know I am.

This water has helped me feel less bloated and has regulated me.

  • 3 quarts of filtered water
  • 2-3 small Lemons

              – helps cleanse and alkalize the body. It AIDS in digestive and boost the immune system

  • 12 Mints

                – helps settle the stomach and AIDS in digestive. Also, adds a touch of sweetness without added sugar.

  • 1 medium cucumber

                – Rehydrates and contains inflammatory properties.

*Mix all ingredients and refrigerate for a minimum of 4 hours, but best overnight.

Enjoy! ❤️❤️❤️
